General Motors has made it known that while there had been sales of the 2024 Chevy Blazer Electric Sports Utility Vehicle, it’s been recently entering a period of suspension around the beginning of January 2nd, 2024. All because there’s been a lot of reports from drivers and consumers that the software of the EV has been giving too many issues. Which is disappointing. Obviously, there’s setbacks on the road all the time, but it’s rather untimely when people are in search of a practical alternative to smooth-driving.

Chevy themselves had prepared a statement. Here it is: “We are aware that a limited number of Blazer EV owners have experienced some software quality issues. To ensure our customers have a great experience with their vehicle, we are temporarily pausing sales of Blazer EVs. Our team is working quickly to roll out a fix, and owners will be contacted with further information on how to schedule their update. We apologize for the inconvenience.”

As according to other publications, Chad Lyons, the communications director for Chevrolet, made it known that the owners themselves would eventually receive more info. on what ways they can schedule their update.

General Motors believes the software issues that are reported may not be entirely related to the built-in Google programming upon the infotainment system, let alone it’s cross-brand Ultium platform of EV batteries, motors, and control systems. Even Edmunds.com has reported a list of faults with the Blazer EV tester would entirely include a motor, brake, battery and even body control system issues. Plus, there have been plenty of ussies reported with infotainment system crashes in addition to issues with charging infrastructure. All being observed upon those test cars as well as Ultium platform owners. It’s not clear if any of those are specifically related, given the direct cause of the stop-sale. But as it’s been found out recently, the software overhaul is so major for the Blazer EV.
